Example: Some bio-based polyesters that have gained commercial use or that are currently being investigated are polylactic acid (PLA), polyglycolic acid (PGA), poly-ε-caprolactone (PCL), polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), and poly(3-hydroxy valerate).
